The inner ring

A purely analytical concept utilized in the concentric circle approach to studying presidential structure. The inner ring is a series of personal friends and advisors close to the president. It may include a spouse (Hillary Rodham Clinton/ Roslyn Carter), friens outside of goverment (BeBe Rebozo for Nixon), or people who also hold positions within the executive branch of government.
