The mission statement of the LIB:
The Liberal Party in Ruritania adamantly supports freedom in all forms. The Liberal Party feels that people should be free to make choices and the necessary conditions for these freedoms should be met at all times. What good is freedom if we can’t enjoy it? This is a question, which is what makes living in a free society so difficult. The Liberal Party feels that the environment is something that should be protected and improved. A few changes to the way we, as Ruritanians live, can make a huge impact on the environment. Thus, the Liberal Party does not see the need for a large amount of funding for the direct issue of the environment. The environment can be improved through many ways. Perhaps, it would make more sense if more money were put into law and order, if Ruritanians can feel safe in their own neighborhoods, perhaps walking and bicycling will be encouraged over driving a car, which in turn will improve environmental conditions. Money can be spent on making homes meet certain standards of energy efficiency, a little bit of insulation and water-efficient plumbing can go a long way in the fight to save fossil fuels and drinkable water. Health care in Ruritania should be free of charge; there is no reason for Ruritanian citizens to have to pay for their health. By watching out for the environment, we can defer some of the costs of health care also, because a healthy environment leads to healthy people. The Liberal Party also supports the development of small businesses and help for the small farmers. The Liberal Party feels that there should be tough actions to make sure that monopolies and cartels within large corporations do not exist. The Liberal Party recognizes the ongoing struggle for Human Rights and feels that all Ruritanians should be able to have an equal opportunity to realize their dreams. We must learn to live in harmony with our Swedish inhabitants. All Ruritanian children should be guaranteed the right to a free education, as well as support in college. Education is something that has been a negative point for Ruritania, and the Liberal Party hopes to change that. There is no doubt an issue of the fossil fuel export (oil and coal), and the Liberal Party recognizes the need for a balance between economic gain and care for the environment. The Liberal Party feels that through all of the different aspects of governmental issues, not as much money needs to be allocated within the specifics, and overall, everything will be improved. Keeping in mind the importance of the environment, the Liberal Party feels that we can still remain economically stable while simultaneously keeping our environment clean. Ruritanians will be able to live fruitful and enjoyable lives with the cooperation of all!
