Today Ruritanians are in
desperate need for a vision. We are seeing crisis across the policy board and
leadership must be demanded. This nation needs a clear concrete vision, more
than ever before. The Peasants have a vision to make the right kinds of
investments in our community. Our policy standpoints are similar to many of the
other of the ten parties, however there is a big
difference. We do not represent big money like the Socialist or Communist, nor
do we have limited standpoints and following such as the Christian Democrats.
We, the Peasants, represent everyone and we are capable of seeing the "big
picture" in our nation. We represent people like you, and we want to
invest in people like you to build a strong community. Our platform is
uplifting, innovative, and visionary. We will realize all that Ruritania can be.
Our policies are well founded and fiscally prudent. We want to give Ruritanian citizens the most for their money. We do not believe in waste, and realize the benefits in a wise spending or investment in you and your country. Ruritanians, think of it not as spending but investment. Also, at the foundation of our policies we believe if we want family values we must value families. Our policies are a reflection of the type of place we want our children and our children's children to be raised. They are centered around family values and humanitarian ideals. We will get returns. These are the building blocks for our community. These are general statements of our investments:

- Investment in the Research and Development of Renewable Energies and Efficient Energy Usage
- A Progressive Support of Diversity and Endowment of the Arts
We are willing to attack all areas in need to get the job done. Do not underestimate the work ethic of our party. We have risen from the bottom with little funding because you, and because of our work ethic and devotion to you and people like you ?the hard-working Ruritanians. The Peasants pose an important question, "Can you realize the vision?" Are you willing to take a step towards this vision and make it our reality by voting the Peasants number one?

Education:
"You gotta' look at the big picture when it comes to education!" The Peasant can see that big picture and realize its power and influence. Education will affect every aspect of our society. The big picture that we are talking about is the realization of the immense impact education has on every aspect of our country and society. It will affect our culture, our economy, our business and industry, our standards of living, our outlooks, our public policies, and most importantly our progress. Education is the cornerstone in the foundation of our Community and we are going to make it a cornerstone in our policies. The Peasants will fight for required and free public education for grades K-12 as well as government scholarships for proficient students to continue their education onto university or career development colleges. We also want public funding to Universities and career colleges and in the same manner funding job and vocational training for general populations. On the note of our vocational training, this will give all people whose jobs are taken away by corporate interests or the environmental movement a chance to re-educate themselves and move on in our society. Our vision for education is to form a world-class group of educators to form a world class educated populous. Our vision is to have Ruritania students testing in the top of the world in twenty years. We will hold our students and teachers accountable through certification and testing. We will have a standardized curriculum nation-wide with allowances for district needed educational material. For instance, a farming class would be much more practical in Ingoslund than in Shanorewni. We will provide equal funding and opportunity to all schools and students based on population. We will keep our schools safe and give our students the best facilities. Our vision is to modernize and revolutionize our education system. We dedicate to realize the big picture and the power and positive influence a strong educational system can have upon our society.
Environmental and Energy:
"The Peasants are going to clean and protect Ruritanians Air, Water, and Land for our Children!" Giving Ruritania a green thumbs-up. It has come to the point in Ruritania that we can no longer accept the RAPE of our air, our land, and our water. We need to protect the gifts god has blessed us with and maintain our beautiful environment not only for ourselves but for our children and our children's children. We are prepared to take major state initiatives to accomplish our goal of a cleaner Ruritania. We want to clean up and reorganize our urban neighborhoods. Firstly, to accomplish this we are prepared to put strict regulations on industry and their products to improve our air and water quality. Secondly, to accomplish this we w ll develop an agency, which will aid urban and community development. These community planning, reorgan ization, and development will be centered around "green" ideals --the addition of parks, mass transit, industry separated from residential, etc. This Urban Design Committee will not only be responsible for the environmental design of our cities but the development of a sense of community through planning. Though, the Peasants Party is strongly against excessive development, if there is development we want it to be done in an environmental and frugal manner and regulated by our urban/community planning committee. We are also going to strive for the establishment of city parks, national parks, and game reserves. Our flora, fauna must be preserved. Preserving our natural resources will be a high priority to the Peasants. We shall dedicate ourselves to the importation of resources as well as the establishment of more renewable energies within the country, such as hydro-electric. The Peasants are also interested in the establishment of an agency/research institute to develop and research new environmental technologies such as hybrid cars, or solar electric. These products when integrated into our markets will improve our environment. We also will strongly support any legislation that develops clean efficient mass transit as well as the establishment of a nation-wide recycling program. Though these initiative will be costly, the benefits for tomorrow will outweigh the costs of today. It is hard to realize this, but what do you want to leave your children, a river that can catch fire, a mountainside plastered with vacant buildings, a farm destroyed by acid rain? These policies will not only improve your health but your lifestyle in general.
Culture:
"The Peasant Party brings groups together to get things done!" We want to put aside our petty differences so we can tackle the big problems. When we as a nation work collaboratively to respect human's rights, we will be a success. When we enhance our population's knowledge and appreciation of the arts we will be a success, for it is through the arts that we come to understand the expression of cultures and ideas. The more we, as a culture, understand other cultures, nationalities, ethnicities, and races the more we can understand our own. This will form a more tolerant diverse population. The Peasants feel that the more diverse a population is, the more advantages we have over other countries. Each different ethnicity brings to our society a different strength. When one adds all of these strengths together it can only help Ruritania as a country. That is why we are dedicated to the fair treatment of not only Ethnic Swedes but all groups of Ruritania. This is just as our motto says, "No one is going to be left behind." When we protect our heritage, and our traditions, we will be a success. The largest challenge we as a party will have to deal with in when making policies on this topic is the balancing of our personal Christian and traditional values. We will strive to maintain our heritage in our lifestyles and institutions without directly endorsing or forcing our traditional heritage and Christian values upon the citizens. We want a strongly rooted value system to make a better tomorrow for ourselves, our families and for all of Ruritania. This is a strong block in the foundation of our Community. We will fund a substantial amount of government funding for the arts and for the preservation of culture.
Entrepreneurial, Economic:
"The Peasants are tackling big interest to help the working man!" There are three groups whose interests the Peasants are most concerned with. These groups are the farmers, the small entrepreneurs, and the industrial worker. It is these groups that are oppressed and have a disadvantage when competing against large corporate interests. The peasant party is out to help the small man. We believe that in order to spur economic prosperity we must give government subsidies to both retail and agricultural small entrepreneurs. These subsidies will start new businesses and new farms as well as helping ones in crisis. We must protect our small farms and small business. It is our way of life and with an increase in corporations not only will competition decrease but we will also lose our identity and sense of community. It will have the same affect the interstate had on the American Downtown. The Peasants also want to see new farming technologies and methods brought to the farmers through education. We want to see our communities designed with a commercial center amidst our culture -- not in a strip mall. We must also protect the rights of the workers and support unionization, corporate regulation, increased minimum wage. Our Farmers, Businessmen, and Factory workers must have the opportunity to advance themselves educationally. This will advance our society. The protection of workers rights and the equal economic opportunity for all of Ruritania's hard-working men and women in our Community is top priority.
Law and Order:
"Keeping our streets safe" Making Ruritania safe through police, military, and community responsibility. Crime is an increasing problem in many areas of Ruritania. We know that crime has always been and always will be, but what is the Peasant Party willing to propose to rid our homes and communities of crime. Firstly, we believe communities must take personal initiatives by forming night watches and knowing their neighbors and neighborhoods. Secondly, we are willing to support moderate expenditures for our armed forces and police force. The most important thing we wish to get across is that the desire must come from within. Our cities and neighborhoods must band together and say, "We will not tolerate this any longer." With the combination of a Community and a police force, we can make our streets safe once again.
Health Care:
"We affirm our commitment to take concrete, specific, realistic steps to move toward the day when every Ruritanian has affordable health care coverage!" We will not rest until the job is done. Though it is not affordable for us to fight for complete coverage at the time being we will fight to provide a basic package of coverage with additional coverage available to consumers through private providers. We also want to regulate the medical profession through standards that will protect the patient. We take initiative to improve the quality and research of all areas of health. A healthy community is a building block to the foundation of a healthy population. A healthy populous is a thriving community.
Rights:
"The peasant will fight for your basic rights!" We believe in the establishment of basic rights in the constitution that shall be upheld under the law. Among these right should be the right to a primary public education. Education will determine if we succeed economically, militarily, and politically. We believe that every citizen should have the right to participate politically with few limitations, such as age. We do not think that anyone should be forced to participate. What practicality is there in forcing people to be part of an institution in which they are not interested? This is like recruiting members to a club that have absolutely no interest. Will this club be a success? We believe in the freedom of speech. With this, no one will be unrepresented and the people can check the government. We, the Peasants, want the people to have the power to criticize the government and question our motives this can be ensured through the right of assembly and petition. Though, we want our strong traditional values up kept it is important to protect our nations ethnicities and religions. We must have freedom of religion. Diversity and tolerance will contribute to our progress and make sure no individual is left behind in society. Most importantly, all persons should have the right of economic opportunity. We must not allow any individual to be prevented from pursuing property. We must also have a rights for criminals and the accused. These core ideas will protect the individual and the solidarity of our Community. These rights will allow Ruritania to realize the Peasant Party's VISION 2000.
Housing:
"A stable home in which to raise a family." Our country's children must be provided with a safe and stable community in which to grow in our Community. We are willing to provide direct state subsidies to those who cannot afford to buy a home and indirect subsides for housing and the development of housing. This housing will be regulated by our Urban Planning Committee to ensure that these are built responsibly with long-term planning in mind.
Taxation:
"A necessary evil in which to advance the standard of living for all in Ruritania!" We will give the hard-working citizen more than he has ever had in Ruritanian History.
