The Mission Statement of the SOC:

My fellow Ruritanians, we are about to embark on an incredible journey. As a nation, we are an old people made new again by this amazing political system called Democracy. The Socialist party of Ruritania is the only party that understands what the meaning of Democracy is. Democracy for our party means that all citizens of Ruritania are involved in our political system and that all members of our society are treated as equals. The Socialist party of Ruritania will set forth a comprehensive agenda that will work for this nations’ working people. The issues that we will work for are:

These issues are the "Superior Six". Through these issues, Ruritania will become a citizenry that deals with the issues of the society. We will work for the good of the many and not of the few, as many of our opponents do. These are the issues that will change the way that Ruritania works, lives and thinks! The issues are simple and our plans are common sense. We are a party of the people and we are now going to unveil our plan for a Ruritania; a Ruritania where a Socialist party and a government works for the working people in Ruritania!

Education

We, the Socialist, party believe that education is the cornerstone of society. This is why we support a strong federally funded school system. That is why the first thing that a Socialist government will pass, as far as education is concerned, is an Education Commission. This will set high standards for the Students, as well as the teachers and the school as a whole. We will create Education Action Zones, that will be set up to "attack" underachieving schools by recruiting the best teachers and administrators, to turn the school around. We will encourage parents to be more involved in their child’s education. We want to increase their power, but with power comes responsibility. They will be able to be on the Education Commission and other boards like that, to help people understand what it is like from a personal prospective. Everyone in Ruritania should have an education. This is why we will set up Hope University. This will be an adult oriented University, which will act as a job-training center for Ruritanians who are unemployed or who are underemployed. We want to ensure that all people can succeed in this new economy and no one is left behind.

Economics

The times are changing in Ruritania and so is the equality of the tax code under the Socialist party. Our party believes that in order to have an effective government that works for the people, everyone must pay taxes. We firmly believe that the beginning rate of taxation should be kept at a minimal level to encourage work and to help the less fortunate in our nation. The goal of our tax policy is to benefit the many, not the few. For it is in the best interest of our country, to not tax the lower and middle class. In the Socialist party we don’t believe that if you spend more, the problem will be fixed. We believe that money should be accolated to where it will work the hardest and we will get the best "return" out of it. This is one reason why we pledge to set ceilings or spending limits in our government, to ensure that money will not be thrown at problems and offer fiscal responsibility. Within the first two months of a Socialist government, we also pledge to introduce a budget within two months of our election. We will then begin to work on the economic issues that plague our nation and begin to reform the welfare state, to get folks back to work.

Work and Welfare

One of our first actions to benefit the workers of this nation will be to establish a national minimum wage. This will set standard for employers to ensure that people will receive a wage that they can live off of. We will also create a New Deal where the government will aid disable and the underprivileged of this nation get work. This will happen through the government forming partnerships with corporations to get jobs for long term unemployed people. This will also act as a center of training for job skills for single parents so they can support their children.

Health Care

The very first election that is going to take place in November will decide whether this nations lives or dies. Literally. One great crisis that our nation faces is health care. Under the current system of health care our nation is dying. This system of care has failed miserably and has become an embarrassment for this nation. The infant mortality rate is higher than both Scandinavia and the United States. The spending for health care and the life expectancy rate, here in Ruritania, are lower, once again, than US and Scandinavia. There is a shortage of doctor's compared to our neighbors in the region. It is time for a change. There is no reason why every man, woman and child in Ruritania cannot have fast, friendly, and quality health care. Never again will a family have to go to another country to get quality health care for their ailing. The Socialist party believes that the government should provide health care for all Ruritanians. All people under a Socialist plan would have comprehensive health care coverage. We would set up a National Health Board to over see the system and have this board set high standards for our health care system. The plan that the Socialist Party believes in will strive for excellence and tolerate substandard conditions nowhere. I am personally outraged that no one has taken the time to address this very serious crisis so far in this campaign. The voters of Ruritania must know that the Socialist party is the party of life and cares for you. I can guarantee that in November, if elected, the Socialist party will not allow this crisis to continue to go unchecked and ignored. Only together can we make a difference. We need your help and if you believe in a health system that works for all people and helps those who need it most, support the Socialist Party of Ruritania".

Crime

Crime in our nation has become a national crisis. That is why the Socialist party is adopting the philosophy that we must be tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime. In order to have a more informed prosecution of criminals, the Socialist party wants to have local prosecutors work on local crimes. We will set up youth courts that work quickly and effectively, that will deter crime. Because the longer we wait means that if justice is delayed, then justice is denied. We will also increase a federal support to the police. We will encourage the police to prevent crime instead of reacting to it. Ruritania is a multicultural and multiracial society. All members of our society must have protection under the law. This is why a Socialist Parliament will pass legislation to create a new offence of racial harassment and a new crime of racially motivated violence to protect ethnic minorities.

Environment

Ruritania is the most beautiful nation in Scandinavia. We have so many national treasures that our country must protect. This is why the Socialist party believes that we should create a National Park system, where businesses cannot move into and the beauty of the nature will be forever preserved. We also believe in researching for better fuel consumption to aid in the cleaning of the air. We, the Socialists, also believe in having tough environmental laws that hold corporations responsible for their actions. We cannot allow our nations beauty to be destroyed and this is why the Socialist party is taking strong stands to protect our environment and the animals that live there.

These are the issues that are important to the Socialist party and these are the issues that we will be working towards if elected in November. These issues work to increase equality, protect the common man, and increase the prosperity of this nation. We are a party of fiscal responsibility and we will strive to have a government that works for the hard working people of this nation. We as a party also realize that these are not the only issues. That is why we reserve the right to add to this party manifesto to ensure that the people of this nation receive what they deserve. Our party is a party that will evolve with the people to ensure their needs are meet. That is why our manifesto will be an evolving document, to ensure that the will of the people is heard. For all of these reasons, this is why the Socialist party is a good thing, on the Dawn of a New Era for Ruritania. Lets work together to make this nation what it is meant to be!
