Well, in order to know
what I am doing now, you must learn a little from my past.
I began playing the trumpet in
5th grade. I should have played trombone,
but I was stubborn and didn't want to play (what I thought of then) as a "boy
instrument"
6th grade I played in
our first annual Summer Band camp. And ever since then I have played in/taught
the camp.
7th-8th grade
I began to participate in the Solo and Ensemble contests, receiving superior and
excellent ratings. Also during these years I participated in the University of
Akron Summer Band Camp.
9th-10th
grade I began by advising the middle school Jazz Band. I was also in the Scarlet
Guard Marching Band and the Crestwood Wind Ensemble. I participated in High
school jazz band, and in solo and ensemble contest. I also went to Wooster Music
Camp and made the Dubuy band.
11th-12th grade I
was the section leader and band council member (including President my Senior
year) Plus I participated in the Summer Band Camps including the BOA summer band
symposium my junior year! And I was a member of the Cleveland Youth Wind
Symphony.
These things as well as many other service
organizations and clubs led me to where I am today!
Today: I am studying
Music Education at the University of Dayton. Where I participate in the PRIDE of
Dayton, the Flyer Pep Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble (SWE), and other musical
groups.
