              Elizabeth's Bio

Elizabeth is a full-time first year student at the University of Dayton. She is studying Musical Therapy with her main instrument being the piano. From a young age Elizabeth has been playing the piano as much as she possibly could. She was adjudicated twice in the OMEA performing on the piano, receiving the highest ratings both times. Beginning in the fifth grade, Elizabeth began playing the flute as well. She played in her school band all throughout grade school, junior high, and high school. She also was adjudicated in the OMEA performing on the flute as well, three times, once in a trio, all three times receiving the highest rating. Throughout high school, Elizabeth was asked to play at events such as an Alumni Dinner at Sinclair Community College, a benefit cocktail party at Wegerzen Garden Center, and several events for Chaminade-Julienne High School. Most of those performances were with a trio or duet group mainly playing background music for the guests. Elizabeth's father had been involved in music since he was a boy, and Elizabeth had been surrounded by music ever since she was little. At every Christmas party, or New Years Party, or just anytime that her parent's friends would come over there would be music playing and singing, which she loved. Her father's main instrument was the bass guitar, and when Elizabeth was in high school, he began to teach her how to play an acoustic. She didn't continue very much with lessons from her father, but she would whenever she had the chance. Later, in her junior year of high school, Elizabeth began taking cello lessons at the University of Dayton, but due to her heavy involvement in school activities, she could only continue lessons for a few months. She did perform once on the cello accompanying her father at her church. Also at her church, Elizabeth played flute and sometimes piano every Sunday during her high school career. She also has played piano for a few weddings, including her own cousin's wedding in California. Now in college, Elizabeth is still taking private lessons for the piano, and has also joined the Choral Union and the Ebony Heritage Choir.
