From a very early
age, I developed an interest in working with children in an educational
setting. Born into a family of educators, teaching has always been an
important part of my life. During grade school and into adulthood, I
spent time observing and working in my mother’s second grade classroom.
I also spent most of my weekends babysitting for families in my
community. This early exposure to the field of teaching and child care
helped me decide that I wanted to become a teacher.
When I began my college career as an Early Childhood Education
major, I knew right away that I had chosen a major that was perfect for
me. I was and still am excited and motivated to learn as much as I can
about the teaching profession. After each year of observation and
through my education classes, I have grown more confident in my ability
to create and maintain an effective classroom that produces successful
learners.
