Course Description:
This course will focus on the major plays of Tennessee Williams from The
Glass Menagerie to Night of the Iguana. Students will trace
the playwright's development as a dramatist and will assess his view of
the human condition. Plays will be grouped together to represent particular
phases Williams went through in creating his dramatis personae.
Evaluation Procedures:
All students: Three quizzes; two short papers; class participation.
Graduate students only: Annotated bibliography of reviews of one play.
