Welcome to the University of Dayton!

We hope and believe that your years here will be fun, exciting, and stimulating. Never again will you have the opportunity to involve yourself in such an environment where curiosity, exploration, experimentation, and growth are such routine parts of everyday life.  However, it is all up to you!  Whether and how much you learn and grow will come only from your dedication and your self-teaching:  the results of your years here are what you create them to be.  The faculty will guide you and stimulate your interests but only you will learn and grow.  Likewise, you must make your own decisions about everything that happens here and then take responsibility for the actions that follow from them.  Many people here at UD are ready tohelp you make good decisions, but the decisions are yours.

This course is designed to help you make the transition from high school to college life and learning.  It's an important transition from a basically hand-held learning and growing environment to a totally open, free, and self-directed invironment.  If all goes well, by the end of the semester you should:

Grading: ASI 150 is “option 2" (to pass this course you must attend all classes and complete all
assignments)
