Gerald E. Kerns has been a member of the U.D. Political   Science Department since     1967. He served as Chair of  the department from 1978 until 1990. He initiated Pre-Law on campus in 1969 and served as Chair of    the University Pre-Law Program from 1974 to 1989. In 1978 he initiated  the International Studies Major and served as Co-Chair of that program from 1980 to 1982.

 

Professor Kerns teaches courses on Constitutional Law, Civil Liberties, The Judicial Process and Political Theory. He has been a participating faculty member in the University Study Abroad Program eight times and as a result has developed a sub-specialty in the Politics of Italy.
