Preliminary Results: Not yet approved.
The purpose of this survey is to study the correlation between a
persons' locus of control and his or her perceived body image. The
independent variables include locus of control, athletic background, and
gender. The dependent variables include body image and self esteem.
Scholars who have studied this topic have found that persons with
internal locus of control generally have better self perception and body
image. Many of the studies I found used athletes as subjects and
generally would focus on one age and one gender. In order to collect the
most accurate results I have used questionnaires that have been tested
to have
good Reliability and Validity.
