HSS 485 Sport Management Internship Description
The prerequisite is 20 enrichment points.
There are two options for the required internship available each term after the completion of the students junior year (90 credit hours). The first is a two-part internship for students who plan to do internships both their junior and senior years or two different experiences during the same term. Three semester credits are required for completion of each internship, for a total of 6 credits and each credit hour represents 50 hours of work. Therefore the student must complete 300 clock hours at each internship site to complete the segment. (A total of 600 hours are required to complete the internship requirements). All internships will be registered through the Department of Health and Sport Science on a pass/fail basis.
The second opportunity exists for students who want to complete their internship in one semester at one site. Six semester credit hours are required. Therefore, 600 clock hours at the internship site are needed to complete the internship. 6 semester credit hours of internship credit are required for graduation. All internships will be registered through the Department of Health and Sport Science on a pass/fail basis.
Students may obtain positions themselves (subject to departmental approval) and may work for compensation.
