Course Description:  The purpose of this course is to help UD students who have had some exposure to the Marianist charism examine ways to continue their involvement in the Marianist Family beyond their college years.  The course will provide information and discussion on Marianist history and interaction with people who have made ministry and life decisions centered on the Marianist charism.  By reflecting on their experiences here at the University and interacting with those involved with the Marianist Family, the participants in the class will have the opportunity to explore how they might continue their participation in the Marianist Family beyond UD.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course students will be able to:

·        Articulate their experience of the Marianist charism, spirit and mission at the University of Dayton.

·        Articulate how others incorporate (or have incorporated) the Marianist spirit and mission into their lives.

·        Identify key historical points in the development of the Marianist Family.

·        Identify important historical figures within the development of the Marianist Family.

·        Articulate how the Marianist charism is lived out by men and women, lay and religious, in the present day.
