Goals for the Course: 

            This course is designed to help you develop a better sense of who you are and how your experiences and education at the University of Dayton can help prepare you to make a difference in the world about you.  By the end of the term you should:

To receive a Passing Grade you are expected to:

 

 

Journals:

 

When we have assigned readings for a class day, you will complete and submit a journal entry by e-mail before that class.  Each entry will include your thoughtful and specific response to the reading assigned for that day.  On days when we have large-group presentations, you will submit a journal entry within 48 hours after the large-group session.  Journal entries should be the equivalent of 1-2 typed pages (200-500 words).   You must submit your entries on time.

            Differences between high school and college teacher expectations

Read Chapter 2 of the FYE Portfolio           

E-mail journal response due before class:  Describe UD’s approach to educating the whole person.
