John Westendorf of Lenexa, Kansas sent us the following information:
The question that remains unanswered is whether there is a link to the Westendorf towns in Germany/Austria and Frank Westendorf (Jerry's Grandfather), who sailed to the States from Bremen, a town in the northwest of Germany.
Frank's American citizenship application in the 1850's lists his home area as Oldenberg, which is also in the far northwest part of Germany.  His town of birth has been listed as Corum, the capital of Oldenberg in approximately 1827.
